DOUS announces “Adopt a Student Program” maiden beneficiaries

The DOUS Committee on Adopt a Student Program just recently approved the granting of an educational grant-in-aid of Php 3000.00 each to four bonafide DOUS students, who belong to low-income families, but have good moral character and good scholastic record. The primary aim of the program is to assist in the financial needs of the student grantees, for them to be able to finish the program they enrolled.

The grantees are: Lea N. Sibayan, 21 years old, Bachelor in Elementary Education student from Nalvo Sur, Pila, La Union, daughter of an electronics repairman, a consistent honor student from the Elementary grades to secondary; Panfilo P. Morales, 26 years of age, Certificate of Teaching student from Ortiz, Naguilian, La Union, the son of a tailor and a service/performing arts awardee;Jocelyn D. Kinhude, 36 years old, a Certificate in Teaching student from Polipol, San Gabriel, La Union; and Carlo Rabanal, a Ph.D. student enrolled at PASS College (one of the learning centers of DOUS), Alaminos, Pangasinan.

Sources of the funds for the ASP are: “Piso Mula sa Puso” raffle draw, which was done during the DOUS Foundation Day last year, Eco-Club seedling production, solicitation from kind-hearted citizens and also from the proceeds of the Ukay-Ukay sales.
